LOCAL TIME is an intimate documentary series that celebrates culturally specific businesses serving as the beating heart of their communities—preserving traditions, fostering identity, and weaving the economic fabric that binds neighborhoods together.
CONCEPT OVERVIEW
In an era of rapid gentrification and cultural homogenization, small businesses rooted in specific cultural traditions serve as vital anchors for community identity and connection. LOCAL TIME explores how these establishments operate as more than commercial enterprises—they are cultural fixtures, gathering spaces, and guardians of heritage.
Each episode focuses on one business, revealing the stories of the entrepreneurs who built them, the communities they serve, and the traditions they preserve. Through intimate portraiture and observational storytelling, the series creates a visual archive of cultural resilience while examining the broader forces that shape our neighborhoods.
Premiering in February 2026 on You Tube, Local Time will feature owners Vicki Richardson from Left Of Center, Fawn Douglas from NuWu Art Gallery, Mara Diakhate from Africa Love Store (Las Vegas flagship), Jason Nious from Molodi, Nikki Driscoll from Serenity Skin Care, LLC and Mimi Dagne from Gursha.
Michelle serves as the executive producer, creator and host of Local Time, alongside co-producers, Eccentric Artists. For more info on Eccentric Artists, please visit their website at: www.eccentricartists.space
